Job Description:
Amazon Game Studios is looking for a Senior Software Development
Engineer to join a new Publishing Tech Team as a Tech Lead, shaping
the future of cloud-native gaming on Luna. You will be the
technical anchor of a lean, high-impact team building an entirely
new "AI Native" publishing technology stack — with no legacy
dependencies and no ceiling on innovation. In this role, you'll set
the technical direction for Amazon Game Studios' common Publishing
services platform, lead architecture decisions, mentor engineers,
and serve as the primary technical partner for world-class external
game developers. Key job responsibilities - Define and own the
technical vision and architecture for Amazon Game Studios'
publishing technology platform, including the TechOps layer
(artifact management, error tracking, build pipelines), Game
Services layer (authentication, telemetry collection, live
configuration, API gateway), and Developer Tools - Champion
AI-powered gameplay innovation, leveraging AWS Bedrock and
proprietary AI solutions to create competitive advantages unique to
Luna's cloud-native platform - Serve as the primary technical point
of contact for external game development partners, providing
full-stack support across game clients, mobile web-based
controllers, backend services, and cloud infrastructure - Partner
with Luna platform and other Amazon teams to integrate
bleeding-edge technology and advocate for platform improvements
that benefit our games - Ensure all games meet Amazon's quality bar
and Luna's technical certification requirements, including
performance optimization, accessibility compliance, and security
standards - Mentor and grow engineers on the team; establish
technical standards, design patterns, and engineering best
practices that scale across the portfolio - Stay current with game
development technologies, cloud gaming innovations, and emerging AI
capabilities — and bring those insights back to the team A day in
the life As Tech Lead, you will work with the Technical Director to
define the technical roadmap, drive architectural decisions across
the full publishing stack, and ensure the team executes with speed
and rigor. You thrive in ambiguity, lead through influence, and
know how to balance long-term platform thinking with the urgency of
shipping games on accelerated timelines (12–24 months vs. the
industry standard of 36 months). About the team The Amazon Game
Studios Tech Team accelerates Amazon Luna's strategy by enabling
world-class games on Luna cloud gaming and PC platforms. We own the
publishing infrastructure layer — build/release pipelines, game
services (auth, telemetry, live config), and developer SDKs — that
enables Amazon Game Studios to provide publishing support for 15
titles in concurrent development with a lean team. We are the
trusted bridge that connects external game developers with Amazon's
technical ecosystem, removing barriers and increasing developer
velocity so every Amazon Game Studios game launches with the
quality, performance, and innovation players expect from Amazon. -
