experience preferred Description: This is a Urology Clinic RN role.
An RN in this role will need to have very strong Urology skills.
Prior outpatient experience is highly preferred, but the manager is
open to solely acute care experience with high-rated Urology
skills. The RN must be comfortable with catheterization. The
facility is willing to train on urodynamics studies, bladder
instillations, Botox, and testosterone injection on an as-needed
basis. The RN will be responsible for performing special procedures
involving Gemcitabine and/or Gemzar, a chemotherapy procedure where
a chemo agent is infused into the bladder and then drained. This is
typically done post removal of tumors to ensure they do not return.
The RN will also perform urodynamics studies, PTNS, catheter
changes, CIC teaching, voiding trials, and injections. The RN will
triage patient calls, work in the in-basket, and manage refills.
Locals and true travel applicants are welcome. 26 weeks of
experience is required. No weekend or on-call requirements exist.
The RN is not expected to float between units. Previous charge
experience is not required but is preferred. Experience in a
community hospital is beneficial. Travel experience is not
mandatory. All travelers are expected to float between all
facilities within a given state. Refusal to float may result in
termination of the assignment. The client will supply providers
with communication devices as needed. Monthly cell phone bills for
work-related use should be submitted by the providers. Modules are
non-billable and must be completed pre-start and annually.
