About the Position A Registered Nurse (RN) – Outpatient Clinic
provides direct nursing care and support to patients in an
outpatient setting, focusing on preventive care, chronic disease
management, and patient education. The RN works closely with
physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals
to deliver high-quality care to patients who do not require
overnight hospitalization. This role involves performing
assessments, administering treatments, educating patients, managing
patient flow, and ensuring the smooth operation of the clinic while
maintaining a compassionate and professional environment. \n\n Key
Responsibilities : \n \n \n Patient Assessment and Triage : \n \n
Perform initial assessments for patients visiting the clinic,
including taking medical histories, measuring vital signs (e.g.,
blood pressure, temperature, weight), and assessing current health
status.\n Triage patients based on the severity of their symptoms,
and prioritize care according to clinical protocols.\n Document
patient information accurately in electronic medical records (EMR)
and communicate findings to the healthcare team.\n \n\n \n Clinical
Procedures and Treatments : \n \n Administer prescribed medications
and injections (e.g., vaccines, allergy shots, biologics) as
ordered by the physician.\n Assist with minor medical procedures,
such as wound care, dressing changes, venipuncture, and lab
specimen collection.\n Perform routine diagnostic tests and
screenings, including blood draws, EKGs, and urinalysis, as
required by the clinic's specialties.\n Prepare patients for
examinations and assist healthcare providers during procedures,
ensuring patient comfort and safety.\n \n\n \n Patient Education :
\n \n Educate patients and families about their conditions,
treatment plans, medications, and self-care techniques.\n Provide
information about preventive health measures, such as
immunizations, screenings, and lifestyle changes (e.g., diet,
exercise, smoking cessation).\n Teach patients how to manage
chronic conditions like diabetes, hypertension, asthma, or heart
disease through lifestyle modifications and proper medication
adherence.\n \n\n \n Care Coordination : \n \n Collaborate with
physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare providers to
develop and implement personalized care plans for patients.\n
Schedule follow-up appointments, arrange referrals to specialists,
and provide instructions for future care.\n Communicate with
insurance companies regarding authorizations and referrals when
necessary.\n Assist in managing patient flow by ensuring
appointments are scheduled efficiently and that patients are seen
in a timely manner.\n \n\n \n Documentation and Reporting : \n \n
Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in compliance with
clinic and regulatory standards, ensuring patient data is
confidential and secure.\n Document all patient encounters,

instructions in the EMR.\n Report any concerns, adverse events, or
complications to the healthcare team immediately, ensuring timely
intervention and appropriate care.\n \n\n \n Administrative Support
: \n \n Assist with patient intake, registration, and insurance
verification as needed.\n Ensure clinic equipment is maintained,
sterilized, and ready for use, and report any malfunctions or need
for repairs.\n Support clinic staff with clerical duties, such as
filing, organizing patient charts, and managing supply
inventories.\n Assist with billing processes, ensuring that all
relevant codes and documentation are provided for accurate
insurance claims.\n \n\n \n Infection Control and Safety : \n \n
Adhere to all clinic policies and procedures, including infection
control protocols, to ensure a safe and clean environment for
patients and staff.\n Educate patients on infection prevention and
hygiene practices, especially when managing wounds or chronic
conditions.\n Follow proper hand hygiene, sterilization, and PPE
guidelines to prevent the spread of infection.\n \n\n \n Patient
Advocacy : \n \n Act as a liaison between patients and the
healthcare team, addressing concerns and ensuring that patients'
needs are met in a timely manner.\n Advocate for patients by
helping them understand their treatment options and make informed
