Job Description:

purpose and belonging. The Cardiac Ultrasound Technologist, under
the direction of the Department Director and Manager is expected to
work independently performing a variety of echocardiography
procedures for use in the diagnosis of heart disorders. The Cardiac
Ultrasound Technologist will independently perform transthoracic
echocardiograms (TTE) on adult, children and neonatal patients and
prepare a preliminary echo report for review by the interpreting
Physician or LIP. Stress echocardiograms, both pharmacologic and
exercise, will be performed by the Cardiac Ultrasound Technologist
with the assistance of a qualified Respiratory Care Practitioner,
Cardiologist or other Licensed Independent Practitioner specialized
in Cardiology. The Cardiac Ultrasound Technologist is also
responsible for acquiring Transesophageal echocardiogram (TEE)
images on under the direct supervision of a cardiac cardiologist,
qualified anesthesiologist or cardiac surgeon. The Cardiac
Ultrasound Technologist assumes responsibility for the completeness
and accuracy of all exams performed and the effective communication
of this information to the cardiologist, anesthesiologist or
cardiac surgeon for final Cardiac Ultrasound Technologist
individualizes patient care using age related concepts based on the
unit population by applying age related concepts including
knowledge of growth and development, safety needs, collection and
interpretation of data, treatments and care typically required and
participating in the evaluation of care. Utilizes age related
concepts when communicating with patients and families, using
medical equipment, participating in diagnostic or other procedures

Coursework/Training: Graduate of a formal approved Cardiac
Sonographer program. - upon hire: National Registered Diagnostic
Cardiac Sonographer from American Registry for Diagnostic Medical
Sonography. Or - upon hire: National Certification from
Cardiovascular Credentialing International. - upon hire: National
Provider BLS - American Heart Association. Preferred

position. The successful candidate's placement on the wage range
for this position will be determined based upon relevant job

pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role,
