license Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in a
busy Cath Lab Pre/Post Recovery unit. The unit includes 16 beds and
recovery lounge chairs. The average number of cases per day is
approximately 30. The EMR system used is EPIC, and medication
management is through PYXIS. The team consists of a charge nurse
and additional staff RNs, with daily staffing including 16 RNs.
Call is required 5-7 days a month by signup, with a 60-minute
response time preferred. Weekend day call hours are 5 AM to 5 PM,
and weekend night call is from 5 PM to 5 AM. Holiday on-call is
also required. Surgical attire is provided by the facility. This
position does not require ventilation management. Cardiology
support is available 24/7, with pharmacy and code support also on
call 24/7. Shifts in the recovery unit run Monday to Friday from 5
AM to 9:30 PM. Common shifts needed are from 9 AM to 5:30 PM, 6 AM
to 6 PM, 7 AM to 7 PM, or 1 PM to 9:30 PM, and shifts are
negotiable. Floating is not expected unless in an emergency
response. Orientation is expected to be less than one week if the
nurse is competent. Common cases include admission and recovery for
patients having left and right heart catheterizations, complex PCI,
electrophysiology, interventional radiology, and hybrid or combined
cases. This unit is located in a newly opened facility that is
expanding its services. The team is supportive and welcoming to
travelers.
