Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg - Discipline: RN - Start Date: ASAP - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry unit night shift position requiring a WA or compact RN license and BLS certification. Responsibilities - Work in an 18-bed telemetry unit within an acute care hospital setting - Primary patient population includes medical-surgical overflow patients such as CHF, DM, UTI, non-critical sepsis, HTN, COPD, isolation, end-of-life, palliative care, patients awaiting placement, and post-op general surgery - Nurse-to-patient ratios are typically 1:4 to 1:5 - 12-hour night shifts with weekend shifts required based on unit needs - No on-call requirements - Floating to other units may be required as needed - Unit uses Epic EMR system - Limited titration of Heparin and Cardizem drips is required - Unit is newly opened - Provide direct telemetry nursing care and monitor patients' cardiac status - Assist with Heparin and Cardizem drip titration up to 10mg/hr - Work with charge RN and nurse aides in a supportive team environment - Unit-specific orientation of 2-3 shifts provided - No specific scrub color required - Holiday work may be required and will be discussed during the interview Requirements - Active WA or compact RN license required at time of consideration - Minimum of 2 years of RN experience, with at least 1 year in an acute care setting - Current BLS (AHA) certification required - Experience with telemetry monitoring, including reading strips - Experience with CPAP and BiPAP equipment required - Must provide two references, including one supervisor from the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from the last 3 years, with dates of employment and rehire eligibility - Copy of driver’s license required for consideration Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-623444.
