Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for
a Labor & Delivery position requiring WA or Compact RN licensure
and strong LDRP skills. Responsibilities - Work in an acute care
Birthing Center/Mother Baby unit with Labor & Delivery and
Postpartum responsibilities - Unit includes 34 L&D beds, 2 OR
suites for C-sections, 2 triage beds, and 14 postpartum beds -
Handles high-risk pregnancies, preeclampsia, diabetes,
social/psychosocial issues, and substance use cases from 33 weeks
gestation and above - Average of 150-180 births per month - Nurse
to patient ratios follow AWHONN guidelines: 1:2 in L&D, 1:3-4
for couplets - Nights shifts with every other weekend required
(Fri/Sat) - Block scheduling available if requested - Epic EMR
system is used - On standby, 45-minute response time required -
Floating within Mother Baby and Postpartum units only; no NICU or
outside department floating - RNs are responsible for attending low
and high-risk deliveries, functioning in postpartum, and performing
newborn transitions - Unit provides 24/7 in-house
OB/GYN/hospitalist, anesthesia, and neonatal nurse practitioner
support - Free charge nurse; surgical tech and patient care
assistant available on each shift - Scrubs are provided and lockers
are available - Unit and department-specific orientation provided
including Epic training - Rotation in holiday coverage with
permanent staff is required - Travelers must be adaptable and open
to feedback on workflows and policies Requirements - Active WA or
Compact RN license required at time of consideration - Minimum 2
years LDRP experience required; will consider 1 year with multiple
prior travel assignments - Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP;
intermediate or advanced FHM preferred - Comfortable attending
deliveries independently, circulating for C-sections, catching and
transitioning babies - Experience with titrating magnesium,
Pitocin, and insulin drips - Epic charting experience preferred -
Must submit two professional references—one supervisor from within
the past 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last
3 years - Copy of driver’s license required for consideration
