Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Cardiac Cath Lab - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 11/10/2025 - Duration: 13 weeks - 40 hours per week - Shift: 8 hours, evenings - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Cath Lab Pre/Post Recovery position requiring a WA or compact RN license, ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications. Responsibilities - Position is in the Cardiac Cath Lab Pre/Post Recovery unit in an acute care setting - Typical patient population includes those recovering from left and right heart caths, complex PCI, electrophysiology, interventional radiology, and peripheral vascular procedures - Recovery unit has 16 beds and a radial lounge with 6-7 recovery lounge chairs - Works with an average case volume of 30 per day - EMR system used is Epic; Pyxis for medication management - Common shifts are 8 or 10 hours, with evening coverage (1pm-9:30pm or 11am-9:30pm); shift times may be discussed with the manager - Recovery unit is open Monday through Friday, 5am-9:30pm; shifts are negotiable - Call is required 4-7 days per month by sign-up, with a 60-minute response time (preferred within 30 minutes); weekend and weekday call hours specified - On-call required for holidays; otherwise, off - Floating not required unless for emergency response - Responsibilities include pre- and post-procedure care, patient admission, and recovery for a range of cardiac and vascular cases - Unit is staffed with 16 RNs per day in various shifts, supported by a charge nurse - 24/7 cardiologist, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy support available - SWAT IV team available; pre-op nurses and staff are proficient in ultrasound IV starts - Floor-specific orientation is less than one week for those determined competent - Hospital-issued surgical attire must be worn - Travelers are supported by a welcoming and expanding team on a modern campus opened in December 2020 - Candidates may not have been directly employed by CommonSpirit (including CHI/Dignity) in the past year Requirements - Active WA or compact RN license required at the time of consideration - Minimum of 2 years of recent nursing experience required - Current certifications required: BLS (AHA), ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) - Experience with Epic charting system preferred - Ability to provide two professional references: one from a supervisor within the last 12 months and one from a peer or supervisor within the last 3 years - Copy of driver’s license required for consideration Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-625608.
