Job Description:

An Infusion RN specializes in administering medications and fluids via intravenous (IV) lines, injections, or other non-oral routes. This role is crucial in settings ranging from hospitals and clinics to home health care. Infusion RNs manage patient care involving IV infusions, monitoring patient reactions, and educating patients about their treatment plans. Administering IV medications and monitoring IV sites for complications. Observing and documenting patient reactions to infusions. Ensuring strict adherence to sterile techniques and infection control protocols. Maintaining detailed and accurate patient records. Educating patients and families about treatments and care plans. Collaborating with pharmacists and physicians to formulate treatment plans. Adjusting infusion therapy plans as needed based on patient response. Proficiency in IV insertions and infusion therapies. Strong knowledge of antiseptic and sterile techniques. Excellent patient assessment skills. Ability to educate patients and families on complex treatment plans. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
