Developmental Scientist is a senior level position within the
Pharmacokinetics Laboratory at Fred Hutch, requiring strong
technical, administrative, and leadership skills. The Developmental
Scientist works independently under the guidance of and in
conjunction with Laboratory Leadership in accomplishing the goals
of the laboratory.The Developmental Scientist will assist the
director with the development of new clinical tests, coordination
and oversight of the development and implementation of new and
updated technical projects and initiatives in one or more of the
following specialized areas, pharmacogenetics/omics,
pharmacometrics, and/or quantitative bioanalytical method
development and testing, depending on the candidate's area of
expertise. Close interaction and collaboration with the director
and the rest of the lab team members is required.At Fred Hutchinson

respect.Responsibilities
- Development of new clinical tests
- Clinician and client education/outreach to support testing
growth and clinical utility
- Coordination and oversight of the development and
implementation of new and updated technical projects and
initiatives within the Pharmacokinetics Laboratory, focused in one
of the specialty areas, pharmacogenetics/omics, pharmacometrics,
and/or quantitative bioanalytical method validation.
- Work with lab leadership to integrate new and updated
procedures and protocols into the lab's routine workflow; ensure
appropriate regulatory documentation and quality control and
management of data.
- Form teams consisting of technologists to work on development
and implementation of procedures and practices.
- Contribute directly to clinical workload; from bench level
through director sign-out per credential qualification, supporting
the lab's ability to meet turnaround time expectations. For
example, NRCC or ABCC eligible or certified candidates may also
assist with director review/sign-out of clinical cases.
- Other duties as assigned.QualificationsRequired Qualifications:
- Earned doctoral degree (PhD) in a chemical, physical,
biological or clinical laboratory science, MD, DO, DCLS, or
PharmD
- At least 4 years of experience or equivalent, including at
least 2 years experience in at least one of the specific specialty
areas: pharmacogenetics/omics, pharmacometrics, and/or quantitative
bioanalytical method validation after the terminal degree
- Demonstrated advanced technical experience in laboratory-based
method and assay development, including effectively leading test
development, troubleshooting issues, and providing education in at
least one of the specialty areas.
- Proven expertise in assay/testing development using at least
one of the platforms - QuantStudio, Gas Chromatography Mass
Spectrometry (GCMS), Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry
(LCMS), or individual/population pharmacokinetics (popPK) modeling/
physiological-based pharmacokinetics modeling (PBPK)
- Demonstrated experience effectively working in a fast-paced,
mission-driven, rapidly changing, clinical translational
environment

and written.

Qualifications:
- At least 4 years experience in at least one of the specific
specialty areas: pharmacogenetics/omics, pharmacometrics, and/or
quantitative bioanalytical method validation after the terminal
degree
- Knowledge of CAP regulations
- Have or be eligible for HHS-approved board certification as a
laboratory director of a laboratory performing high complexity
testing under the CLIA '88 regulations, Subpart M, Section
493.1443The annual base salary range for this position is from
$124,488 to $196,747 and pay offered will be based on experience
and qualifications.Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center offers employees a
