Sustainability and innovation are at the heart of all of our sectors which, in North America include Advisory, Built Environment, Energy, Transportation, and Water.Mott MacDonald is seeking a dynamic, highly motivated, and experienced Principal Project Manager/Account Leader with at least 15 years of experience in water and wastewater infrastructure projects to join our Seattle, WA office. In this role, you will serve as the Principal Account Leader on large, complex projects and lead the technical development of proposals.The position offers excellent potential for professional growth and the opportunity to collaborate not only with water resources personnel, but with our many practices including dams, geotechnical, energy, and transportation. The qualified candidate must have strong leadership and program management experience and direct business development experience during their career, with the ability to generate project leads, build client relationships, and win work.Responsibilities:

  • Serve as project manager on large and complex projects with multi-discipline project teams.
  • Serve as project principal, supervising less experienced project managers on smaller, less complex projects.
  • Supervise and direct preparation of planning studies, evaluations, and feasibility studies for water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure projects.
  • Supervise and direct preparation of plans and specifications for new facilities and rehabilitation of existing facilities.
  • Supervise and direct construction engineering support services.
  • Lead the technical development of proposals.
  • Serve as account leader responsible for creating and growing relationships with one or more clients.Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Environmental or similar).
    • Licensed as a Professional Engineer in Washington.
    • 15+ years total experience in planning, design, and construction management of water and wastewater infrastructure projects for major utility clients.
      • Experience with King County Wastewater Treatment Division (WTD) is preferred, but not required.
      • Strong technical skills and technical leadership experience, preferably including water or wastewater treatment plants.
      • 5+ years experience in managing multi-discipline project teams.
      • 5+ years experience in managing proposals for engineering projects.
