Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical
experience. 8 years of experience in software development. 3 years
of experience as a team technical lead, or system architect.
Experience with large-scale, high-throughput, low-latency,
real-time event processing systems. Experience with C++. Preferred
qualifications: Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer
Science, or a related technical field. Experience in developing and
optimizing high-performance, low-latency, event-driven real-time
backend systems. Familiarity with machine learning systems and
development lifecycle, including model training, testing,
evaluation, deployment, and monitoring. About the job As a Staff

help architect the future of real-time mapping for Google. Driving
Telemetry builds and maintains mission-critical, high-throughput,
low-latency systems that acquire, ingest, and process hundreds of
billions of real-time location samples and vehicle sensor
observations per day. In this role, you will handle deep technical
challenges in distributed computing, real-time system architecture,
and event-driven signal processing, as we modernize and evolve our
infrastructure to accelerate AI initiatives and real-time mapping
systems across Geo. Your contributions will directly enhance the
world’s best driving and navigation products, and contribute to the
future of innovation in mapping and mobility products for Google.
The Geo team is focused on building the most accurate,
comprehensive, and useful maps for our users, through products like
Maps, Earth, Street View, Google Maps Platform, and more. Every
month, more than a billion people rely on Maps services to explore
the world and navigate their daily lives. The Geo team also enables
developers to use the power of Google Maps platforms to enhance
their apps and websites. As they plot a course for the future of
mapping, they are solving complex computer science problems,
designing beautiful and intuitive product experiences, and
improving our understanding of the real world. The US base salary
range for this full-time position is $207,000-$300,000 bonus equity
benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and
location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work
location and additional factors, including job-related skills,
experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can

test, deploy, maintain, and enhance large-scale software solutions.
Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables. Work with
engineering and product leads across teams to define and understand
system requirements, and align infrastructure design and
architecture to meet business needs. Innovate and evolve systems
and APIs to keep pace with changing and emerging AI and machine
learning capabilities and patterns. Measure and monitor system
health and performance. Define service and data Service Level
Objectives ( SLOs), and maintain a strong team culture of
operational excellence.
