Our client, a law firm established -nearly 100 years ago, -delivers exceptional legal services to a diverse clientele. Over the years, the firm has honed its expertise, becoming renowned for its -insightful, responsive, and innovative approach to law.
This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting leader looking for a rewarding position with a team of dedicated, passionate professionals. This role is multi-faceted in which you'll put on your "Controller" hat to focus on directing the day-to-day financial operations of the firm while providing mentorship to a small team of accountants, you'll also wear a "CFO" hat to provide strategic guidance and support to the managing -board members.
Controller Responsibilities:

• Direct the daily activities of the accounting department, including supervision and mentorship to department personnel.
  
• Assist with tax research and analysis as required. -
  
• Direct maintenance of fiscal records and review department structure, policies, and protocols for enhancements.
  
• Assist accounting team members with tasks, as needed.
  
• Stay updated on industry trends, accounting standards, and regulatory changes to improve financial processes and compliance.
  
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and legal counsel for audits, reporting, and tax filings.
  
• Oversee Line of Credit renewal and bank term loans.
  
• Monitor revenue, expenditures, and cash flow to meet financial obligations.
  
• Analyze firm and practice group financial performance, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
  
• Prepare and monitor annual budget and financial reports summarizing firm activity and position.
  
• Conduct financial modeling and forecasting for various scenarios.
  
• Perform other assigned tasks and responsibilities.
  Controller Qualifications:
  
  • Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
    
  • Minimum of -5 years of related experience and/or training (with at least 2 years in a Controller role); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient in GAAP, financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
    
  • Proven leadership experience fostering collaboration, accountability, and professional development.
    
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and accounting software systems; LSS experience preferred.
    
  • Prior experience in a professional services environment is required; prior law firm experience is strongly preferred. -
